Crochet a Star from Plastic Bags
Crochet this star / flower using plastic bags. This little star or flower was made from recycled plastic bags. It’s a quick and simple project that can be used to make a hair barrette as shown.
The star or flower can be used to embellish any project as it’s a cute addition to any purse or bag. Use your imagination and have fun adding this to your crafting item!

Crocheted Recycled Plastic Star Pattern
Star Flower measures 3 inches wide across.
Material: Plastic bags cut into 1 inch strips
Hook: Metal H (5 mm) hook
Round 1
Ch 4, Sl St to join in first st of chain to form ring.
Round 2
Ch 2 (counts as first Hdc), work 11 Hdc in ring (12 Hdc), join with Sl St at top of Ch 2.
Round 3
In each of the following stitches, *Sc, Hdc, Dc, Trl, Dc, Hdc, Sc then Sk next st* —
repeat between * – * 3 more times to complete star.
Sl St to fasten off. Leave ends long if using as an embellishment so you can tie it to the project.

These are a delightful way to use up all those rotten bags. Will dress up the larger, sturdier bags I crocheted using the plastic. Thanks for the idea
