Crocheted Easter Eggs and Peeps

Posted on March 25, 2013

With Easter just around the corner, I have been busy crocheting Easter eggs and Peeps for Easter baskets. We are having a Easter CAL (craft a-long) over at our group on Ravelry. A cute Peeps aka marshmallow bunny crochet pattern was shared. This pattern is very quick and easy. Here are several of them that I crocheted. I used black fabric puff paint to add the eyes.

Here are some crocheted eggs I did. Delights shared her free egg pattern on Ravelry where she uses a plastic egg and then crochets the shell around the egg. I had the idea of crocheting the egg and then stuffing it with a recycled plastic bag. This is also a great way to use up scraps of bag pieces you may have leftover after making plarn such as the end piece or the handles. I stuffed the egg with pieces of plastic bags before the last few rounds were done. I just used my finger to push the plastic in the egg. You want to stuff the egg pretty tight before crocheting the last rounds and closing it. Below you will see 3 of the eggs I crocheted.

Can you guess which egg below is stuffed with recycled plastic bag pieces? Is it #1, #2, or egg #3? Go ahead and post your answers in the comments. I will reveal the answer in a few days.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my Easter crafting ideas. Happy Easter everyone!

I’ll take a wild guess that it’s the egg closest to the camera – but I wouldn’t bet on it. šŸ™‚

Julie — You are absolutely correct. The plarn stuffed egg is the one closest to the camera. Congrats and Happy Easter!
