Crocheted Edging on Dishcloth
Need a quick and easy gift idea? How about crocheting around the edges of a store-bought dishcloth. Here are a few inexpensive dishcloths I bought and by adding a quick handmade edging you have a pretty little gift.
Here is a closeup showing the simple single crochet edging.
To crochet the edging around the dishcloth, I used a small C (2.75 mm) crochet hook. It easily goes through the thin dishcloth and just attach at any corner. I then worked around evenly doing single crochet (SC) stitches along the sides and worked several stitches at the corners to keep the pattern even. See closeup photo to view stitching.
Here is another dishcloth I crocheted in brown cotton and added a matching towel topper.
The towel topper is my double layered waffle pattern. Both items used less than one ball of sugar’n cream cotton to complete. So if you are looking for little kitchen gift set or a charity item for auction, I hope you will give this idea a try.
