Christmas in July Stockings

Posted on August 12, 2018

We are just wrapping up our Christmas in July stocking along over at Ravelry. I crocheted about 20 different mini Christmas stockings over the 2 week event. Here are a few of my completed stockings which are for the 2018 Warmth for Warriors stocking drive.

BLO Mini Christmas Stockings
These were crocheted using the BLO (back loop only) mini stocking pattern. Working in BLO has become one of my favorite methods these days. It is easier on my hands and fingers and the projects do seem to work up more quickly.

Striped BLO Christmas Stocking
Here are two BLO stockings that I crocheted in stripes. You just work 2 rows in each color and carry the yarn on the inside after you change colors. This allow you not to have a bunch of ends to weave under later and makes for a cute little Christmas stocking.
Mini Cuffed Christmas Stocking

Here are a few mini cuffed stockings which were crocheted using the free mini cuffed Christmas stocking pattern. This is another fun and easy little pattern for crocheting mini Christmas stockings that results in a stocking about 6 inches long from top to toe.

And finally here is a waistcoat stitch stocking crocheted with a snowflake. I crocheted this stocking using this waistcoat pattern but only in the charted area. I find working the waistcoat stitch only in the chart area much easier and my fingers are happier for it.

Well that wraps up this mini Christmas stocking parade. I hope you will check out some of the free mini stocking patterns I shared and crochet yourself, your family or support our troops using these crochet patterns.
