January 24 marks my 10th year of blogging and crafting here at My Recycled Bags. When I started this blog back in 2007, I had just began crocheting with recycled plastic bags. Crafting with plastic bags which later was called plarn has because a very well known recycled craft.
My first post on January 24, 2007 started out by telling the history behind my crafting with recycled plastic bags. It featured a photo of my brown recycled handbag purse. For years now I have used this image as my avatar and it is what many people recognize as the signature image of my identity on the Internet.
I have crocheted and crafted hundreds of recycled projects over the years. I have created and shared over 100 free crochet and craft patterns on this blog. You can find all my free patterns here
Today my blog here at MyRecycledBags is 4 years old. I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since I decided to launch my idea about sharing ideas and posting free patterns for plastic bag crafts. The word plarn hadn’t even been discovered yet. But now crafting with plastic bags or plarn is a commonly known term.
Many sites and crafters now promote the use of plastic bags and other recycled materials on the Internet. While I wasn’t the first, I’d like to think that I’ve been one of the most active and long running sites that shares all their patterns free. I am always here to help if you have a question or need help with a crochet pattern. I truly love to share my ideas and it has been my pleasure to run this blog for the past four years.
So on this 4th anniversary of my first blog post, I want to say thank you to all my readers and on-line friends. Without all your love and interest in recycled crafting and my blog, I would not have enjoyed the success I’ve been able to have with this site. I so appreciate you all and hope I can keep blogging and sharing for many more years to come.
Blessings and (((Hugs))) to all!
My blog is three years old today! Wow it is exciting to have made it this long and I look forward to many more years of recycled crafting and blogging.
First and foremost I want to thank all my readers and fellow crafters who have inspired, shared, and otherwise supported me and my blog over the last three years. As many of you know, I’ve faced my worst fears when I discovered that I had cancer back in March of 2008. But I persevered and kept on crafting and so far thank God, have beaten cancer and kept this blog going.
So as I move into another year of blogging, I wish you all the best and hope you will continue the journey along with me and my blog. Thank you again for all your love and support over the past three years.
