14 Inch Baby Doll Dress

14 Inch Baby Doll Dress

This baby doll dress was crocheted to fit the cloth body dolls that are about 14 inches long and have the wider bodies. The doll has a 11 to 11-1/2 inch chest. I crocheted using Caron Lt Peach Country yarn for the baby doll dress and hat. Both items used less than 3 ounces of yarn to complete.

Doll’s head is 10-3/4 inches around. The hat I crocheted is about 11 inches around and 4-1/4 inches long.

Shoulder straps measure 3-1/3 inches long, dress from shoulder to hem is 7-1/2 inches long and 12 inches around chest with back closed with Velcro closure.

Ana Sweater Shell

Toddler Vest

I present my crocheted toddler sweater vest shell. I have named this project the Ana Sweater Shell in honor of my sweet Granddaughter who this sweater was created for. The sweater is worked from the sides rather than from top to bottom as is with most crochet patterns. Because it worked with the stitching running up and down, it provides a unique and easy to finish crochet project.

I first saw this idea from a sweater shell that Guro crocheted over at her blog but she did not have a pattern written up. Well after checking with Guro, she said to just go ahead and feel free to be inspired by her project so this is my results. I worked my vest shell in half-double crochet stitching while hers was done in single crochet.

I really love this sweater as it is so versatile. It can be worn as a vest over a t-shirt or blouse and it can also be worn as a shell alone in warmer temperatures.

Click to Super-Size

My vest shell is about a children’s size 3 and should fit a toddler who is around 2 years old. It has a longer body so it’s a nice length for a toddler. The vest fits my Granddaughter who is 15 months old. The pattern has been written up and while I have not tested it, I believe it’s pretty solid but please email me if you have any questions or find any errors in my free crochet pattern below.

Baby Ribbed Band Hats

I have been crocheting purple baby hats for the PURPLE baby crying awareness campaign. PURPLE Crying is a program to help parents, caregivers and others understand this normal increased crying in healthy infants and prevent abuse such as shaken baby syndrome.

Details for the hat drive can be found here. They do ask that the hats be at least 50% purple in color and be simple with no straps or hanging pom poms etc.

Here is the baby size hat pattern that I adapted from the adult crochet hat pattern for this project. I have options in the pattern directions below for a 3-month old baby, newborn, and a preemie sized hat.

Enjoy the free crochet pattern and I hope you will support this is very important baby awareness campaign by crocheting or knitting a purple hat.

Barbie Baby Doll Top

Barbie Baby Doll Top

Here is a Barbie baby doll top that I crocheted. I added a pair of my Barbie bloomers to complete the set which makes cute baby doll PJs for Barbie.

This set is designed for a Barbie doll with a 3-1/2″ waist and 5-1/4″ hips. You can just crochet the baby doll top and mix and match it with a skirt or pants to create different outfits for Barbie. You could also make the top longer by repeating Row 11 to crochet a cute Barbie dress.
Enjoy the free crochet Barbie baby doll top pattern below.

Barbie’s Red Dress

Barbie red dress

Does your Barbie need a new red dress? If so, here’s a little number I crocheted using some scrap yarn I had. I’m actually experimenting with this pattern to crochet a Barbie dress using recycled plastic bags. I wanted to test the pattern first using regular worst acrylic yarn to see how it looked as it’s easier to frog with yarn than with plarn.

My first attempt with the pattern resulted in this little red dress for Barbie. The picture is clickable if you want to see an enlarge photo of the dress. I will now attempt another dress using plastic bag yarn with a few minor changes. Anyway I did write up the pattern and wanted to share this free dress pattern with everyone.

Basic Fingerless Gloves

Basic Fingerless Gloves

As many of you know, I’m really into creating basic patterns that are easy to make. With that in mind, I set out to create some crocheted fingerless gloves. I love to work in the round, without joining or seams if possible. So here is my basic and very simple crocheted fingerless glove project.

After making this basic crocheted pair of fingerless gloves, I decided that I would try adding a bit of a thumb to it. Below is the pair of gloves that I crocheted with the optional thumb.

The second pair of gloves were crocheted just a bit smaller by only doing 40 rows of ribbing and 40 stitches along the edge for the body of the glove. This resulted in a 1/4 inch smaller cuff and finger opening area. I mention this as a way to show that this pattern can be adjusted for smaller hands by just reducing the number of stitches on the ribbing. Likewise, you could make larger gloves by just increasing the number of stitches of the ribbing when you begin the pattern.

Each pair of gloves use just one skein of yarn and do work up very quickly. As always, I hope you enjoy my free pattern and happy crocheting to all!
