I love crocheted kitchen items and have had this crochet towel on my to-do list for 3 years. So I finally got around to crocheting it last month. I present the Totally Utilitarian Dishtowel. Here is the link to the free pattern on Ravelry.
I only crocheted 56 rows as ran short of Sugar’n Cream in colorway 178 Potpourri cotton yarn. I added two finishing rows in colorway 28 Delft blue cotton with a ring for hanging.
I have a magnetic hook on the side of my refrigerator that I like to hang a towel on. Having a ring on the towel makes it very handy. So I added a towel topper to a Dollar Store kitchen towel with a built in ring.
This is a modified version of my triangle towel topper pattern. For this towel topper, I folded the kitchen towel in half and crocheted single crochet (SC) stitches along the top as I have done on many of my other double layered towel toppers. But for this towel topper, I add a recycled milk jug ring for the hanger.

Here is a Dollar Store bar towel with a crocheted topper added. I used a milk jug ring for the hanging loop.
This is a quick towel topper as it uses a small triangle shape and about an ounce of cotton yarn to complete. There is no cutting or sewing necessary for this towel topper. I used this free triangle ring towel topper pattern to crochet the project with a few modifications. Because this towel is smaller, at row 3, I did single crochet (SC) decreases (Dec) all across in BLO, then SC in every stitch next row. Repeat these two rows, twice.
At row 8, Ch 1, turn.
