Baby Hats
Here is a new baby hat that I crocheted using a pattern that I’ve wanted to try for some time now. I worked even on 55 stitches which resulted in a hat circumstance of 17 inches. I did do a few mods to the pattern as follows:
I did not finish off the yarn after round 13. I just turn to inside to start first earflap. Stitch counts in earflaps are off as mentioned by others by 1. Right earflap round 8 calls for Hdcs around entire hat edge after right flap is done but I crocheted all SCs around to finish off.
I did six 17 inch long strands for the tie but that still made for short ties in my opinion. After braiding, my ties are 6 inches long.
Hat length is 7 inches with 17” cir. Hoping it works for a 2 year old in a Christmas shoebox for Operation Christmas Child.
The free earflap crochet pattern is found here at Ravelry.

Next is one of my crochet patterns that I crocheted for a newborn baby.
It uses my scalloped baby hat pattern.

This yarn was some old vintage Kmart baby yarn so I worked even on 64 stitches for a newborn baby sized hat. Because the yarn is baby weight, I crocheted to 19 rounds for length before working the scalloped trim.
Finished size: 12.5″ cir by 5″ long folded over.
